Welcome to W®I(S)TORY!

This site is about WISdom or Watch Idiot Savantism if you will - ticking wrist-wear and stories about and around them. It was originally meant to revolve around the artesanal manufacture and sales of bespoken leather straps named after the CV 707 Vesikko, worlds only surviving typ IIa U-Boat, launched on 10 May 1933 in the Crichton-Vulcan dockyard in Turku Finland.

This connection proved to be an omen as the CV 707 STRAPS did not survive beyond a half-ready unpublished website and a few prototypes. They were to be made by a friend who was made redundant and liked the idea of putting his handicraft skills at stake. The plan however sank - pun intended - as he found a good job in his main field of expertise within the CNC industry.

And so I ended up with a domain name of a strap company that never was.

I had however thought about putting up a small site called W®I(S)TORY and decided to use the domain for "this" purpose. After all, why not? - A domain name is just that. A name, which in this case also helps spreading forth the story of one historically very important WWII era submarine and acts as a guideline in managing the contents in this site that – to a big part but not exclusively – concentrate on things that go tick and others designed to make a much louder sound just before a silence... Things undetected on... stealth.

Please, sit back and relax. I hope you like it here.

Host,
